Lessons From Johnny Cupcakes
Selected by Sue Maloney
How creative is this guy? The creative ways he approaches 1) retail experience 2) social media 3) packaging and 4) mail order surprises are just brilliant. Weird, but brilliant!
Mod Men
Selected by Jennifer Nelson
Inspired by the hit show, this really cool graphic depicts what today’s Mad Men look like. It is extremely simple and relatable, whether you are in the marketing field or not. Each of these images consists of a two-word phrase that contains a double meaning relating to our industry.

Selected by Shani Taylor
If you’re one of the many Instagram users that takes photos of your meals, you can now support a good cause when you share your images. The new FoodShareFilter app works directly with Instagram to give your photo a branded filter that spreads the word about a charity every time you snap a pic of your food. All funds collected from the app are donated to Manos Unidas, an organization in El Salvador that supports agricultural programs and whose mission includes fighting hunger.
Here Be Dragons
Selected by Lainey Canevaro
While this is a government public works project, I love the thought of taking something functional (a bridge) and tweaking it to be unexpected and spectacular (fire-breathing dragon!). This is a great filter to use when thinking about experiential programming for clients – how can we take their products or a piece of their brand DNA and elevate it to something spectacular.
No, No, No, No, No, Yes
Selected by Melissa Barry
This excellent TED Talk by cartoonist Gideon Amichay directly relates to the main ideas of Ketchum’s new Getting Past No workshop. Amichay shares his personal story of rejection and success, as he attempted his goal of being published in the esteemed New Yorker. By displaying perseverance and tenacity, Amichay illustrates how we must shift away from taking no at face value and begin asking questions. This is definitely a must-watch!
